Mindful Walk for Two

If you spend most of your life with other people (especially little people!), it can be hard to find opportunities to practice mindfulness.

Tom found a new way. He told me about a mindful walk he had with Charlie, his 5 year old son.

They played a game: “Let’s see what we can see!”

Tom started, “Look, a yellow flower!” Charlie joined in, “A red one!” This carried on all the way to the shops.

On the way back, they switched to sounds: the swish of jacket, the chirp of a bird, the clatter of an old biplane flying over.

As Tom told me about this he ruefully observed, “Charlie’s much better at mindfulness than me!”
